Jessica Baynes

Founder, Advisor: University of Utah School of Dance

Jessica recently received her BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah School of Dance. After sustaining a brain injury in fall of 2015, Jessica underwent a year of intensive rehabilitation under a myriad of specialists in vestibular and neurological physical therapy. Jessica utilized her background in dance, teaching, and physical therapy- as both a rehabilitation technician and a patient- to found Healing in Motion Dance, with the goal of creatively supporting patients in her community facing neurological conditions that impair motor function.

Haley Parsons

President: University of Utah School of Dance and College of Social and Behavioral Science

Haley is the President of Healing in Motion Dance. She is a fourth year undergraduate student double majoring in Ballet and Psychology. She is a member of the Honors College and is on the Pre-Med track. She hopes to attend medical school after taking a few years to dance professionally after undergrad. She is interested in the ways medicine is connected to movement and is passionate about Healing in Motion Dance because it explores this relationship. Haley has been dancing for 13 years and believes that ballet will always be a part of her life.

Abby Barber

Vice President: University of Utah School of Dance and College of Social and Behavioral Science

Abby is a fourth year undergraduate student double majoring in Ballet and Psychology. She has been dancing since she was six years old and loves sharing her passion for ballet with others. She began volunteering with Healing in Motion Dance her freshman year, and also teaches ballet classes at local studios. She loves Healing in Motion Dance because of the positive environment of every class and the students who remind her of how fun dancing can be!

Corinne Fellerhoff

Treasurer: University of Utah School of Dance and College of Health Sciences

Corinne is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and is a senior double major in ballet and kinesiology at the University of Utah. She is fascinated by how movement and dance can be used for healing and plans to study it more in the future.

Fiona Galvin

Social Media Manager: University of Utah School of Dance and College of Health Sciences

Fiona is a senior at the University of Utah as a ballet and kinesiology double major. She has been dancing since she was four years old and now teaches ballet at a local studio. Fiona is excited to explore a career that incorporates ballet and physical therapy in her future.
